- Malocclusion
Improper alignment of biting or chewing surfaces of upper and lower teeth.
- Mamelon
A mamelon is a small lump or protrusion, which appears on the surface of a tooth which has recently erupted; these are found on the incisors and there are usually three.
- Mandible
The lower jaw.
- Maryland Bridge
Fixed partial denture featuring conservative retainers which are resin bonded to abutments.
- Mastication
Chewing.
- Masticatory System
The teeth and surrounding structures: jaws, temporomandibular joint, muscles, lips and tongue.
- Maxilla
The upper jaw.
- Mesial
Toward the midline of the dental arch.
- Molars
The Molars are the last teeth towards the back of your mouth. Molars are much bigger than the Premolars and have bigger, flatter chewing surface.
- Mouthwash
A rinse for the mouth which often contains antiseptic; used to kill off bacteria, remove plaque and freshen breath.
- Mucous Membrane
Lining of the oral cavity as well as other canals and cavities of the body; also called "mucosa."
