Power bleaching
Power bleaching is a tooth whitening process which must be done at the dentist. It uses a very strong hydrogen peroxide gel (35%) and takes about one and a half hours. Very dark staining may require a few sessions. The dentist speeds up the whitening process by using a high energy light (either a laser or plasma arc light) and it requires the application of gum protection.
Dentists prefer mouth tray systems because the more gradual whitening process appears slower to revert shade. The dental press also shows that power bleaching can revert more quickly to the starting shade. The cost of power bleaching is £500 plus.
